Leipzig is said to be the new Berlin, Boomtown or Hypezig by the media because of the creative scene with many startups.
Leipzig is at the moment the coolest city in Saxony, it is also a city with long history and the place to be if you like classical music.
After one week I really like this place. There are big parks, beautiful houses, the lakes are not that far away and bikes seem to be the most popular form of traveling. We are going to be staying here at least three more weeks to really get to know this city. We stayed the first week in Plagwitz and now we are in Südvorstadt.
Leipzig became known as the Stadt der Helden (City of Heroes) for its leading role in the 1989 ‘Peaceful Revolution’, when its residents organised protests against the communist regime in May of that year. Since the reunification of Germany, Leipzig has undergone significant change with the restoration of some historical buildings, the demolition of others, and the development of a modern transport infrastructure.
