Cospudener See and Neuseenland

Cospudener See “Cospudener lake” in English, has become one of our favorite places in Leipzig. Neuseenland is an area in south of Leipzig. The name means “New Lakeland” in English. The lakes are man made from old open-cast mines. These mines were converted into a huge lake district. Cospudener See was opened to public in 2000 and is one of the most popular lakes in Neuseenland with 500 000 visitors annually.

Cospudener See is dog friendly and there is a nice beach for dogs to play and swim.

Chris’ parents were visiting us last weekend and we had a picnic by Cospudener See with them.
